Description
Spectacular colour combination with a purple ground muted by the African sun, on this dramatic Ivory Coast “kita” cloth. Cloths like this drew on the long tradition of kente cloths from Ghana worn by Ivoirian Akan chiefs but in the hands of Ivoirian weavers produced quite novel results. Would make a fabulous bedcover. Slightly but attractively faded, otherwise in excellent condition. Dates from circa 1960s.
