Distinctive handspun indigo dyed cotton woman’s wrapper cloth from the ancient Yoruba kingdom of Owo Nigeria. Woven by a woman in two panels on the vertical single heddle loom. Sets of narrow stripes in the weft across the cloth are just visible under the bold warp stripes. Dates from mid C20TH. Condition is excellent.
Measures 65 inches X 51 1/2, 165 cm X 131.
