FR975 – Really superb example of the chequerboard style of prestige cloth

1 in stock

Description

Really superb example of the chequerboard style of prestige cloths woven by both Fulani and Bamana weavers in the region north of Segou in Mali. Thick hand spun indigo dyed cotton, with just enough fading and wear to be perfect. Two this white lines cross each blue block except the central one, which repeats the classic Fulani motif from the borders. Would work as a dhurrie type rug in a low traffic spot, or as a throw or hanging. In excellent complete condition.
Measurements 6′ 10″ x 4′ , 209 cm x 122.
