Description

I love the spotted tunic and jaunty cap of the Asafo company officer on this fine 1960s Fante Asafo flag. The central image depicts a lady grinding corn on a grindstone, a subject I haven’t seen before on an Asafo flag.
The style indicates that this flag was made by the well known master flagmaker Kobina Badowah and his workshop at Kormantse. There are a few tiny worn holes around the corn stalks, otherwise condition is good.
Measurements 5’3″ x 3’8″, 160 cm x 111.
