Fine Ewe chief’s kente cloth with a dark blue black background and a neatly woven grid layout of multicoloured pattern blocks that include figurative and anthropomorphic motifs. Among them is an interesting stylised rendering of an Akan style royal sword with two birds on the double pommel and two blades. Has two or three small old darned repairs, otherwise excellent neat condition. Dates from circa 1920s-1950s.
Measures 111 inches X 70, 282 cm X 179.
