Description
Two Asafo company members put their money into a glass bottle covered in ants. In a Fante village glass containers were pretty much the only thing ants could not enter, so this image alludes to the ability of the company soldiers to protect their community from rivals. The style of figure and border indicate that this flag is from the well known master flagmaker Kobina Badowah and his workshop at Kormantse. Good condition, one tiny hole in border.
Measurements 5′ x 3’1″, 153 cm x 93.
