Natural dyed wool forms stripes across a hand spun white cotton ground on this lovely minimal blanket from the small town of Dori in north eastern Burkina Faso. Called “dori dori” these fine cloths were once widely traded across much of West Africa and were particularly prized in the south of Ghana where we still find old examples like this one. It dates from circa 1950 and is in excellent complete condition.
Measurements are 8′ x 4’3″, 243 cm x 130.
