Description
A very smart dark blue and white pinstripe ground sets of the coloured weft blocks on this handsome Ewe kente woman’s cloth. Each weft block is built up from multiple colours of stripes, in some cases blending two colours of thread carefully plied together before weaving. Simple geometric motifs centre each pair of weft blocks. Dates from circa 1930-1950 and is in excellent complete condition. Measurements 80 inches x 45 1/2, 203 cm x 116.
