Description
Mid weight black and white Fulani cloth from Mali that plays with the classic blue and white checkerboard tradition, merging and dividing the squares into bands and stripes. Black and white cloths, as opposed to very dark indigo pieces, are actually fairly unusual in vintage textiles from the region. Dates from around the 1960s. There are a few small marks on the back but the front, shown here, is in very good neat condition.
