Description
Fine classic period Fante Asafo flag with a beautiful pale apricot brocade background. A victorious company warrior brandishes his sword over a defeated and bound prisoner. Although we don’t know the name of this master flagmaker, his work is identifiable by the idiosyncratic striped version of the Union flag, and by the triangular hat and pants of the main protagonist. A number of his works have been published. Some minor old repairs but good overall condition.
Measurements 5′ x 3’3, 152 cm x 100.
