Subtly beautiful use of natural beige cotton and pale blue indigo dyed thread on this unusual Yoruba men’s wrapper cloth that is probably the work of a lady from one of the Yoruba communities in Togo or Benin. Hand spun cotton thread throughout, with a neat line of braiding before the fringe at both ends of the cloth. Dates from circa 1950s and is in excellent condition.
