Description
If we look carefully at this Ewe kente woman’s cloth we can see that the weaver has varied the colours of the narrow weft stripes that run across the strips and are almost hidden by the predominant blues and white of the vertical stripes. This is a quite unusual and subtle example of the small variations that Ewe weavers and knowledgeable clients appreciated. The cloth is in excellent condition and dates from circa 1930-1950.
