Description
Stencils with patterns cut out of the thin tin lining of tea chests were used to create the patterns on this indigo dyed starch paste resist Yoruba adire eleko woman’s wrapper cloth from Nigeria. From a UK private collection, this cloth dates from around 1970 and is in excellent condition.
Measurements 73 inches x 64, 184 cm x 163.
