Description
Check/plaid woman’s wrapper cloth from a Dioula weaver in north eastern Ivory Coast, with a rich red stripe at one edge of each strip. Small lens shaped weft float motifs (sometimes locally called canoes crossing the river) are scattered quite sparingly throughout. In excellent condition. Dates from around the 1950s.
Measurements 5’2″ x 3’11”, 158 cm x 120.
