Description

Swathe yourself in vintage indigo Yoruba adire eleko with this huge length of indigo dyed cloth. Collected around 50 years ago but unused, the cloth is decorated with a hand drawn version of the cassava starch resist design called “Ori mi pe.”. “Ori” in Yoruba means “head”, but here the name alludes to the inner head or destiny, that in traditional Yoruba belief, was selected by a child before birth. So the name means something like, “I will have a good destiny..” In excellent condition.

Measurements 442 cm x 85, 14’6″ x 2’10”.
