This popular grid patterned hand drawn starch resist adire eleko was called Oluwa Sanu Mi, “God help me”, after the text that was usually written in the diagonal lines. However there were also variant texts as here where it instead reads “bamisetemi oluwa”, meaning
something like “help me to do my own, Lord.” Dates from circa 1960 and is in excellent condition.

Measurements 6’3″ x 6′, 190 cm x 183.
