Description
An interesting and creative contemporary textile from Mali, probably made in Segou. A quite thick white hand spun cotton strip weave Fulani blanket has been overdyed blue with an elaborate style of patterning based on modern market bogolan cloth. The patterning was likely done by a wax or resin resist applied through a stencil. In excellent complete condition.
Measurements 8′ x 5’1″, 243 cm x 153.
