Description
Rather lovely grey and white wool “checkerboard ground Fulani kaasa cloth from Mali. Using grey in these cloths was an innovation in the second half of the C20th when this piece was woven. Otherwise the cloth has all the traditional features of a kaasa, the tassels and edging cord are intact. As always with kaasa the wool used was quite coarse. In very good complete condition, a few tiny weak spots.
Measurements 8’2″ x 4’5”, 249 cm x 133.
