Description
Mid weight black and white Fulani wedding hanging cloth from Mali that plays with the classic blue and white checkerboard tradition, crossed by rows of weft float motifs. Black and white cloths, as opposed to very dark indigo pieces, are actually fairly unusual in vintage textiles from the region. Dates from around the 1960s. There are a few small marks, otherwise good neat condition.
Measurements 6’10″ x 4’7″, 208 cm x 139.
