Description
FR671 – Very fine example of a classic style of Malian cloth called munnyuure woven by Mabuube weavers among the Fulani people in Mali and displayed and worn by important elderly men and women as a mark of senior status. This piece has more varied weft patterns than is typical for the style and is very neatly woven. Collected in Ghana where there is a centuries old tradition of importing fabrics from Mali, this piece dates from first half of the C20th and is in excellent complete condition.
