Dioula woman’s wrapper cloth (pagne) from northern Ivory Coast, circa 1930s.The more elaborate weft float patterning on the lower edge is typical of this style of cloth. Two different strip patterns woven from hand spun indigo dyed cotton alternate throughout. A much used piece with a soft feel and some fraying of the lower edge, overall in good neat condition.
Measurements 4’11” x 3’10”, 150 cm x 116.
