Description
IND351 – Indigo strip weave men’s cloth, Anlo or Koulango people, northern Ivory Coast, circa 1920-50, hand spun cotton. Soft worn feel, some neat patched repairs, no holes or stains. There is a lot of mostly rather poor quality and quite recent “indigo” fabric from Burkina Faso and Mali around at the moment but older and more beautiful pieces like these can still be found by patient searching in other West African countries. Would make a beautiful bed cover.
Measures 109ins X 72, 278cm X 183.
