Description
An imaginative geometric version of the classic Ghanaian “Sankofa” motif, a bird looking back, recalls the need to study the past in order to understand the future. One of several well woven figurative designs on this classic blue and white Ewe kente man’s cloth. Dating from circa 1930-1950s, bocks of dark indigo blue cotton frame numerous extra weft float motifs, the majority geometric variations. The cloth is in very good neat condition and would look great as a bedspread.
