Description
Woven by Fon weavers in Abomey, Benin Republic, the descendants of the court weavers at the royal palace, the cloth has very wide (30 cm/1 foot) strips, decorated with large figurative motifs. We can identify fish, a great crocodile, pots, some sort of large container, and perhaps, pineapples. Dates from circa 1970 and is in excellent complete condition.
Measurements 7’10” x 4’11”, 240 cm x 150.
