Funky 1970s Yoruba aso oke woman’s shawl, alternating strips of openwork with strips of continuous extra weft float patterning. If you are an Aso oke geek like me this piece is an interesting reworking of a type of c19th design that would originally have been woven in hand spun cotton and silk from the trans Saharan caravan trade. In excellent condition.
Measurements 186 cm X 90, 73 cm X 36.
