E1024 – The background pattern of this interesting cotton Ewe kente men’s cloth is mainly solid dark blue with narrow warp stripes in pink, yellow, and green along one selvage of each strip and three narrow white stripes at the other edge. The pink, yellow and green are repeated in the paired weft faced blocks set out in a regular grid layout across the cloth, many framing small neatly woven extra weft float motifs. Dates from circa 1930 – 1950. Small number of minor marks, otherwise good condition.
