Fine mid-century example of a variant form of Asante adinkra cloth in which stamped motifs are placed with a strip woven grid background. The grid is created by alternating a wide orange strip that has regularly placed wine red weft stripes, with a second much narrower strip that is plain in the same wine red colour – see the detail photo. Dates from around the 1950s. Condition: excellent.
