Dramatic white on blue patterning on this distinctive Ewe kente men’s cloth. Broad borders that alternate solid white blocks with stacked triangles, frame a precise grid layout of white weft stripes and white geometric motifs in the central field. While cloths with blue motifs on a white ground are frequently found , pieces like this with white on blue cotton ground are very rare. In excellent complete condition and dates from circa 1950.
