Fante Asafo Fante Asafo flag from Ghana: A female Asafo company officer points towards three frogs. Considering how ubiquitous frogs are in the rainy season in Ghana it’s surprising how rarely they are depicted on flags. Late work by the prolific and long lived master flagmaker of the Anomabo workshop, Kwamina Amoaku (1895-1985) – See Forni & Ross, Art, Honor, and Ridicule (2017:61-62) for a discussion of this significant figure and the Anomabo workshop with which he was associated. Dates from circa 1970. In excellent condition.
