The master weaver of this fine Ewe kente men’s cloth has taken the familiar design of blue blocks and float motifs on a blue and white warp striped background to a higher level with a carefully planned layout and improvised motifs throughout. Narrow weft faced stripes link the pattern blocks across the cloth. Motifs within the blocks include unusual tapestry weave shapes. Paiared threads in the warp make the cloth thicker and heavier than usual. In excellent complete condition, dates from around the 1930-1950s.
Measurements 123 inches X 79, 313 cm X 201.
