Unusual stripe of yellow, green, and purple on this 1960s Yoruba aso oke woman’s cloth. A subtle textural effect was added by weaving around a wide toothed iron comb to form rows of small holes, a far quicker weaving process than the true openwork patterning. A great furnishing fabric for pillows/cushions or upholstery. In excellent complete condition.
Measurements 76 inches X 65, 194 cm X 165.
