Bold patterned indigo resist dyed adire cloth collected new in northern Nigeria in 1970. Cotton thread was used to sew the simple but very effective pattern, the cloth was dyed in indigo, then the threads removed. As this cloth has not been worn many of the loose threads remain and it would need washing to remove excess indigo prior to use. Condition is excellent.
