I particularly like the use of duck egg blue in the warp stripes and a few of the weft faced pattern blocks on this soft and subtle Ewe kente woman’s wrapper cloth. Patterns align across the cloth in a relatively sparse style, each pair of weft blocks framing a small motif. In almost every case there are variations in stripe width and colours within the pattern block “pairs.” Overall this is a pleasing and beautiful fabric. In very good condition, dates from around 1900–1920s.
