A scrolling snake chases two charming little lizards across the lower panel of this thick hand spun indigo dyed cotton Yoruba woman’s wrapper cloth. A thick hand stitched seam joins he two panels, telling us that this unique cloth was woven by a woman on an upright loom. It was collected in a village of the Igbomina Yoruba and dates from around 1950s. Slight wear but in very good condition.
Measurements: 82 inches x 61, 208 cm x 156.
