E923 – This simple warp striped cotton cloth with a repeat pattern of dark blue, white, red, yellow and green, was once typical of the kind of kente woven for and worn by less wealthy men in the Ewe region for ceremonial events. Perhaps because the customers had limited resources and had to wear the cloth many times we seldom find surviving examples in acceptable condition. Condition here is excellent and complete. Dates from around 1920-40.
Measurements: 122ins x 86, 310cm x 220.
