Superb and remarkable flag with a detailed depiction of a market scene by the leading master flagmaker of the Anomabo workshop, Kwamina Amoaku (1895-1985) – See Forni & Ross, Art, Honor, and Ridicule (2017:61-62) for a discussion of this significant figure and the Anomabo workshop with which he was associated. The larger figure at the left holding a sword and wearing an amulet covered batakari “war shirt” is the supi or asafo officer, while people and produce fill the marketplace in this distinctive and well made image.
