Fine Ewe kente woman’s shawl cloth from Ghana with a distinctive and unusual dark blue and dark green pinstripe strip weave background. Some unusual weft float motifs including a small bird in a cage are set amongst elongated diamond shapes that Ewe weavers called ‘akatsi ‘, meaning “tears.” In excellent complete condition. Dates from circa 1920s-1950s.
