Asante men’s kente cloth dating from around the 1950s, with a stripe pattern in the classic colour triad of red, green, and gold. This particular warp stripes design was called Oyoko ne Dako, and references a civil war within the ruling Oyoko clan following the death of Osei Tutu. Woven from artificial silk and with a number of patched repairs, otherwise in neat clean condition.
