Quite subdued two panel mill spun cotton cloth woven by a Nupe lady on the upright loom in the region around Bida in central Nigeria. Maroon, grey, yellow and black warp stripes, a quite unusual palette for these cloths, plus minimal weft float motifs. machine embroidered hems. Dates from circa 1960s and is in excellent condition.
