Another example of a variant layout of the stamped motifs on this mustard yellow cotton ground adinkra men’s cloth. Instead of being framed in rectangular blocks as is typical they are arrayed horizontally along the cloth in between rows of lines made with a wide toothed comb like device. Hand stitching in multicoloured silk joins the cloth panels. As with many other African textile traditions vintage examples of adinkra are becoming increasingly hard to source and prices have risen accordingly. Dates from around the 1950 – 1960. Condition: excellent.
Measurement: 136 inches x 87 ins, 345 cm x 221 cm
