FR669 – Seven different hand spun cotton strip weave designs, including a rare use of a pattern that weavers call ‘basket weave’, make up this distinctive and unusual man’s wrapper cloth from the Bondoukou region of north eastern Ivory Coast, most likely the work of a weaver from the Koulango or Abron ethnic groups. Condition is excellent. Dates from circa 1930-50.
