E900 – Minimal nineteenth century Ewe women’s cloth that may be compared to a group of cloths collected in Keta that form part of the Beving collection assembled by a Anglo-German cloth merchant in the closing decades of the 19th and are now at the British Museum. Woven from imported industrial thread, which at that time was a luxury import and higher value than local thread. This is the only piece in this historically important style I have collected over the years. Condition: excellent.
Measurement: 77 inches x 57 ins, 197cm x 146cm
