Description

FR788 – Rare chief’s cloth from the Anlo or Koulango people of the Bondoukou region, North eastern Ivory Coast, with a minimal grid layout of colourful weft faced blocks on a background striped with indigo dyed hand spun cotton. The sparse use of yellow blocks adds a layer of variation to the regular design. In excellent complete condition, dates from circa 1930-1950.

Measurement 131 inches X 72, 3332 cm X 184.
