Bizarre design on this Yoruba starch resist indigo dyed adire eleko cloth. A diminutive goat stands beside a huge monitor lizard. We have not been able to decipher the presumably Yoruba text – any suggestions welcome. Made circa 1960-1970 by applying the starch resist paste through a large metal stencil. In excellent condition.
Measurements 65 inches x 66, 165 cm x 167.
