Exceptional museum quality men’s adinkra cloth with a range of carefully placed motifs including some unusual designs, framed within rectangles on a white cotton background on this dramatic early to mid twentieth century Asante adinkra men’s cloth. Hand stitching in multicoloured silk joins the cloth panels. Careful positioning of the stamped motifs make this a superb example. As with many other African textile traditions vintage examples of adinkra are becoming increasingly hard to source and prices have risen accordingly. Dates from around the 1920 to 1950. Condition: excellent.
