Attractive and unusual ikat patterned woman’s weave wrapper cloth from one of the Eastern Yoruba sub-groups or perhaps the Igarra. A handsome combination of indigo dyed handspun cotton and wine red industrial thread with narrow ikat warp stripes framed by green silk or rayon stripes. Hand stitched seams throughout. Dates from circa 1950s and is in excellent condition. From a Swiss private collection.
