Description
Lovely fine quality Asante kente woman’s cloth with pale blue, yellow, and black geometric motifs against a background cloth of multiple narrow warp stripes. These complex striped patterns, here including black and white pinstripes, tended to give way to more simple designs of wider stripes in fewer colours by mid twentieth century. This cloth probably dates to around the 1930s or so and is in excellent complete condition.
