Description
Ultra rare real silk Asante kente woman’s cloth with the delicate jewel-like patterning and threefold pattern blocks found in the highest quality early C20th cloths. Still beautiful despite some serious condition issues that perhaps make it more suited as a study piece. The cloth was divided in two parts across the central fold, something that occasionally happened when there was a dispute over who should inherit a cloth from an important family member. We have had it carefully resewn together. There is also a noticeable mark near the upper border. The price reflects these condition issues.
Measurement:5’3″ x 3’7″, 160 cm x 108.
