Fine early (circa 1900) example of Asante weaving in blue and white cotton and the subtle sophisticated effect achievable by a simple alternation of broad and narrow stripes in the warp and weft. I find the fact that the weaver has taken the time to carefully ply together blue and white thread to stitch together the cloth strips particularly pleasing. Condition is excellent.
