FR658 – Very rare men’s wrapper cloth from the Dioula or perhaps Baule people of Cote D’Ivoire, with a variety of small neat extra weft float motifs in rectangular blocks, most woven from hand spun indigo dyed cotton. The Baule chief at the left in the 1950s photograph by Bohumil Holas wears a similar cloth. Dates from around the 1920s-50s. Condition is excellent.
